LESSONS Many peoples asked us how to explain malacology to the pupils. This section is the direct reply. Premise Education is the basis of knowledge and part of civilisation. More specifically, the knowledge of the environment creates citizens who would know, respect and appreciate the Nature. Part of the environment is the large group of molluscs. Beside the commercial molluscs (e.g. food), the values of molluscs, some of which in ecology (biodiversity), biology, art (painting, jewelry, models), nutrition, economy (fishing - farming) etc. are recognized in all the world. The education of young people (pupils and students) will give them the basic - encyclopaedic knowledge of their adult life and could touch the interest for others, to start working with molluscs in fields of their choice. The aim of the project “Verde Realtà” is to “wake up” the interest for molluscs of the educated people in Pan-European level and looking forward, the European citizens of the future to have open mind for new horizons and job opportunities based on the important group of molluscs. Moreover, with the study of a group of the animals, like molluscs, which live on the Earth, students will realize that the human species is only a group of animals that co-exists with so many others, sharing natural resources with them while the over exploitation of the Nature, leads the global balance to the disaster.
