The largest marine gastropod
The largest gastropod living in the world is the Syrinx aruanus (Linnaeus 1758), widespread in northern and northwestern Australia. It lives in shallow waters up to 50 meters deep, feeding on large polychaete worms. Can reach 70 inches in length. The specimens photographed, 54cm and 65cm respectively, belong to my collection.
