Marta Pola Pérez Degree in Biological Sciences for the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid in 1999. Doctor of Biological Sciences (2006): Biodiversity in Nembrothinae nudibranch molluscs (Gastropoda, Opisthobranchia, Polyceridae). She currently teaches as Contracted Professor Interim Doctor at the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid and is associate professor at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco (USA). With more than 40 new species described from different nudibranch groups, she continues her investigations performing phylogenies based on morphological and molecular data and studying cryptic species, while actively diving around the world.
