IPTM International Project for Teaching Malacology www.gruppomalacologicolivornese.it The "Group Malacological Research and Studies", or more briefly the "Group Malacologico Livorno" GML code (see logo), was born at the Provincial Museum of Livorno in 1974 along with other Naturalistic groups initiative of Gianfranco Barsotti, at that time the factotum museum itself, with the aim of channeling the spontaneous interest of people originally simple collectors, providing them with adequate scientific support and help in their deepening of Malacology, full of its aspects not only systematic, but also wildlife and ecological.
