Teaching Malacology

Andrea Nappo

Born in Rome in 1995, I started my malacological collections when I was only 12. I'm probably the youngest member of the project. However I study the Malacology only in the last years.
I racked up initially of all, the Mediterranean and Exotic and now I collect only 6 Cypraeidae Genus of the family, of which I have a modest collection.
I dabble in photography, always on malacological theme and I've experienced the microphotography. Even though I do not collect more Mediterranean, I like to select the detritus of our seas in search of micro shells which, in my opinion , are the most beautiful of all.
Although I was born in Rome, I live in Sardinia, in Quartu Santelena (CA), a really nice town that overlooks the Gulf of Cagliari.
I am also a lover of music, and my musical tastes ranging from Metal to Rock, passing for Classical music, but hating the business music.
I am author of " Cypraeidae", a book totally non-profit, designed specifically for the collector who wants to learn more about this family, spending little, or nothing.
Now I study in fifth year of High School in the Electricity sector, so this means that next year, when I will graduate, I will be unemployed.
I firmly believe in the necessity of forming malacologists in primary schools.
